CITY MARKET OPEN HOUSE & THE SAVANNAH GALLERY GRAND OPENING

The Savannah Gallery Grand Opening will be held in conjunction with the Annual City Market Christmas Open House. There will be carol singing, Father Christmas, refreshments and luminaria. Come for the festivities and be sure to visit Gallery 9 (my gallery) and Gallery 5 (The Savannah Gallery, comprised of Savannah Art Association Artists).

Welcome to the opening! I have a piece in this show. This gallery was built by the Airport Commission, and is an SAA gallery with rotating shows throughout the year. As President of the Savannah Art Association, I urge you to visit the gallery any time! The current show honors the Savannah Ocean Exchange, dedicated to the preservation of our waterways.

Sue is Artist of the Month of January

Here is the part of the press release for the Artist of the Month, Sue Gouse!

To herald the New Year, the Landings Art Association is delighted to showcase Sue’s work as the January 2011 Artist of the Month. A reception in her honor will be held on Sunday, January 9 from 5:00 – 6:30 PM in the Plantation Club Gallery. The reception features a members’ bar and cheese/fruit buffet compliments of the Landings Art Association. Please RSVP to Sue at gousehouse@hotmail.com for a gate pass.
About her art, Sue says, “My love of beauty, color, texture, space, detail, variety, and light in God’s world delights and fascinates me. I attempt to capture scenes that enable the viewer to feel he or she is in that scene either in memory or desire. I am not making political or theoretical statements. Rather, I am simply recording my footprint during my lifetime, which I hope is a legacy for my five children and their children.”

Sue’s work is widely recognized for its merit. She has been juried into numerous shows, including many notable exhibitions in the southeast. Recently, she participated in a Telfair Jepson Museum show. Often published and displayed, her work can be found in scores of galleries throughout the region, as well as numerous private and corporate collections.

Sue lives in Savannah, is married to Dr. John Gouse, and operates Sue Gouse Inspirations, Gallery 9, located in City Market, Savannah.
